The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release JEE Main 2025 application form in November 2024. The examination will be held in two sessions. The first session will be conducted in January 2025 and session 2 will commence in April 2025. The NTA will soon release the notification on the official platform at jeemain.nta.ac.in.  

 

JEE Main 2025 

Joint Entrance Examination is a national-level undergraduate exam administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JEE Main provides students with the opportunity to secure a spot in prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Additionally, it serves as a qualifying test for the JEE Advanced examination, which is conducted by the IITs. This year, IIT Kanpur is the organizing body for the examination.

 

 

 

JEE Main 2025 Exam Date

JEE main examination occurs twice a year. The JEE Main 2025 Examination will be conducted in two sessions and consist of two papers: Session 1 will be held in January and session 2 will take place in April. Paper 1 will be conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech programs, while Paper 2 will be conducted for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning programs. All the 12th-grade finishing students are eligible for the JEE Main 2025 examinations. JEE Mains Syllabus 2025 

 

The syllabus plays a crucial role for the student in their Preparation journey. The Syllabus for JEE Main 2025 is yet to be released by NTA. However, the Syllabus along with the information brochure will be released soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE Mains syllabus is divided into three sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The NTA removed some of the topics from all three subjects last year.

 

In 2024, NTA removed several topics from the JEE Main syllabus. The reduced syllabus is similar to the NCERT/CBSE Class 11 and 12 syllabus. The deleted topics from the JEE Main syllabus are provided below:

Physics:

The communication device unit 

is removed from the syllabus.

Chemistry:

Surface Chemistry,

States of Matter,

General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals,

S-block elements,

Hydrogen,

Environmental Chemistry,

Alcohol Phenol, Ether, and Polymers chapters are removed. 

 

Eligibility Criteria 

There are certain eligibility criteria for candidates to apply for the JEE Examination. Here is an overview of JEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria. 

Age limit There is no specific age limit JEE Examination.
Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed 10+2 or

an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Admission Criteria for IITs,

NITs, and CFTIs 

( B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan)

 Candidates should either have a minimum of 75 percent marks    

(65 percent for SC/ST) or be ranked in the top 20 percentile.

Subject Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have cleared the following subject :

Physics, 

Mathematics, 

Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or 

a Technical vocational subject.

                                                                                                                            

Note: There is a limit for applying JEE Advance Examination. The Candidate has a total of 2 attempts to sit in JEE Advance Examination.

 

Exam Pattern

Aspiring candidates go through the JEE Exam Patterns carefully. The JEE Main 2025 examination offers three distinct papers, each catering to different academic pursuits: 

 

Paper 1: For the BE or B.Tech courses. 

              Subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

Paper 2A: For B.Arch candidates 

              Subjects- Mathematics, aptitude, and drawing

Paper 2B: For those planning to take B.Planning courses. 

             Subjects- Mathematics, aptitude, and planning. 

 

 

JEE MAIN 2025 - EXAM PATTERN

The exam has 90 questions in total.

It carries a total of 300 marks.

Each subject has 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Each subject also has 10 numerical value questions (NVQs).

 

 

JEE ADVANCE 2025 - EXAM PATTERN

For the JEE Advance Examination: 

Candidates must take two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Each paper lasts three hours.

Both papers are mandatory.

Each paper has three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
