IBPS Recruitment

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, an autonomous body conducting recruitment examinations for all Public Sector Banks (PSBs) except SBI. The institute provides services related to assessment and testing for different banks through various exams. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) was established in the year 1984 and is governed by a board of nominees from different government bodies and banks such as RBI, Ministry of Finance, NIBM, IBA, etc. The process of conducting the online exams started in late 2000. IBPS exams are organized to recruit employees for Public Sector Banks at various levels, such as Probationary Officers, Clerks and Specialist Officers.

The tentative Calendar of Online Common Recruitment Process for RRBs & PSBs has been released on January 16, 2023. The schedule has been released in PDF format. 

The calendar consists of the expected dates for various exams conducted by the IBPS.

The tentative dates for the exam have been given below for the year 2023-24. 

RRBs – CRP RRB-XII (Office Assistants) and CRP RRB-XII (Officers)

Preliminary Examination 

Office Assistants and Officer Scale I : 05.08.2023, 06.08.2023, 12.08.2023, 13.08.2023 and 19.08.2023.

Single Examination 

Officers Scale II & III : 10.09.2023

Main Examination 

Officer Scale I : 10.09.2023 

Office Assistants : 16.09.2023

PSBs – CRP CLERK-XIII, CRP PO/MT-XIII & CRP SPL-XIII

The preliminary examination for the post of IBPS Clerk will be conducted on 26 August 2023, 27 August 2023, & 02 September 2023 whereas the main examination will be held on 07 October 2023.

The preliminary examination for the post of IBPS PO will be held on 23 September 2023, 30 September 2023, & 01 October 2023 whereas the main examination will be conducted on 05 November 2023.

The preliminary examination for the post of Specialist Officer will be conducted on 30 December 2023 & 31 December 2023 whereas the main examination will be held on 28 January 2024.

It is important to note here that these dates released by IBPS are tentative and can be modified as per the requirement. Candidates are advised to stay updated with the latest notifications.

Preliminary Examination

Clerks: 26.08.2023, 27.08.2023, 02.09.2023

Probationary Officers: 23.09.2023, 30.09.2023, 01.10.2023

Specialist Officers: 30.12.2023, 31.12.2023

Main Examination

Clerks: 07.10.2023

Probationary Officers: 05.11.2023

Specialist Officers: 28.01.2024

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline

Age Limit: 20 to 30 years

IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline

Age Limit: 20 to 28 years

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline

Age Limit: 18 to 40 years (Vary as per the posts)

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline (Vary as per the posts)

Age Limit: 20 to 30 years 

Process of Registration  

The registration process can be completed through online mode only. There will be a single registration for both the Preliminary and Main examinations.  

Candidates will be required to upload the following documents as directed in the official notification. 

(i) Photograph of the Applicant – 20 KB to 50 KB in .jpeg file 

(ii) Signature of the Applicant – 10 KB to 20 KB in .jpeg file 

(iii) Thumb impression of the Applicant – 20 KB to 50 KB in .jpeg file 

(iv) Scanned Copy of the handwritten declaration as per the format, which will be available in the respective advertisement – 50 KB to 100 KB in .jpeg file
